Introduction to Tai Ji – Brisbane Kung Fu Masterclass Series #1
February 10, 2018 @ 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm
$25Tai Ji (or Tai Chi), is commonly thought of in the west as a simple and gentle exercise suitable for the elderly. While this is not wrong it barely scratches the surface of what it’s potential is. Originally taught and practised primarily for survival in battle, it’s evolution has diverged into several areas. Health, art, spirituality and combat. Most schools only focus on one or two of these aspects. At Brisbane Kung Fu we recognise that our needs have changed since the 1600’s and so the combat skills are referred to more for interest and understanding.
The physical and mental health aspects are certainly the more requested focus these days with corporate stress rife, and poor fitness becoming increasingly common. Poor cardio, poor flexibility, poor posture – these can be addressed with Tai Ji practice.
Shifu Kevin from Brisbane Kung Fu with over 27 years experience will introduce footwork, breathing, qi (energy), posture and hand movements as well as discuss some of the history and culture of this famous artform. Venue to be advised (southside). Cost $25
