So - if anyone out there is interested, let me know what you’d like me to write about? Do you want humour, inspiration, sage advice, or ramblings? What have you liked in my entries so far will give me an idea and help to prompt me as well!

  1. Hi Sifu,

I think a good mix is best. I enjoy the philosophical ones, but also interleave them with ones discussing martial arts - say how you might handle a particular situation, a particular weapon, a particular martial arts subtlety, plus personally also like to hear what you’re up to. Even the odd story about a movie you’ve been in, or a stunt you’ve done. Think of it this way: If Sifu and people are seated around a campfire somewhere on the roof of the world, what stories will Sifu regale us with? Sure there is plenty to tell, so don’t be too conscious about blogging as a role. Just be you. Whenever you’ve dropped by our place for the hour-long Jason King show we’ve never been bored. :)

PS I do think it’s a good idea to add pictures, even if unrelated. They seem to give the readers mind a break to take things in. Look at joelonsoftware.com. There should be a way to enable stats so you can monitor visitors to the blog etc. Do notice the bulletin board has been very quiet, but then you can look at these as experimental. We try them and see whether or not they support what you do . Also chat with the students 1:1; they’ll say more than they would leave in comments perhaps.

    cheers
    Beeje

  2. I think Beeje’s right in this be yourself and tell us wonderful stories like in camps. :D

  3. Yeah, I agree with Beeje too. I enjoy reading your random musings/stories when I get into work of a morning. The more obscure, the better!
